Fishers of Men

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Sept 19 - Sept 22, 2024

This year's Fishers of Men Retreat will be held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  We will have the unique opportunity to return to Teton Valley and fish some of the finest rivers in America.  We are delighted to return to a favorite destination for Fishers of Men.

The fly fishing will include a variety of excursions with wade and float trips on several different waters; and we look forward to welcoming to the group our spiritual leader, The Rev. Dr. Travis Helms, Associate Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in Jackson Hole.

Registration for Jackson Hole 2024 opens on April 12, the feast day of St. Zeno, patron saint of fly fishers.

Fishers of Men Jackson Hole Retreat

How do I register?

Registration opens on April 12.  If you would like to register for this year's retreat, please email the Executive Director at bert@stpeterskerrville.com.

How much will the retreat cost and what is included?

The 3-day/3-night retreat will cost each participant $2,500, and it includes your lodging, beverages, food, dinner out on Friday evening, fly fishing (2 half-days), and evening programs.  We require a $500 non-refundable deposit upon your registration.

Will I need to bring my own fly fishing gear?

Not necessarily.  Our outfitter will provide fly rods, reels, flies, boots, and waders.  You may bring your own equipment if you'd prefer.

Will I need a Wyoming fishing license?

Yes.  After you have registered, we will send you the wader and license form.

What do I need to pack for clothing?

Please check the weather for the time of our retreat and pack clothes appropriate for two days outdoors with a jacket or fleece.  A hat and sunglasses are also highly recommended.  Most of our time off the river will be spent at the rented home (see pictures to the left of comparable lodging) so pack comfortably for those evenings.  You will also want to pack for going out to dinner on Friday evening and church on Sunday morning.

What is the format and schedule for the retreat?

The program officially begins with dinner on Thursday evening at 7pm.  The retreat includes two days of fishing (Sept 20 and Sept 21) with our fly fishing guides providing a variety of excursions.  Each morning and evening will be tailored for the spiritual component of the retreat. On the Friday evening of the retreat, we will go out for a nice dinner.  Also, the group will be welcomed for Sunday morning worship (Sept 22) at St. John's Episcopal Church.  The retreat will end Sunday, Sept 22 at 11am.

Which airport should I fly into?

Once you have registered, you will need to make your own travel arrangements. You can book a roundtrip flight in and out of Jackson Hole Airport (JAC).  Please make note of your travel arrangements on your registration form, and our program director will be able to coordinate your pickup from the airport or provide further instructions for your arrival and departure.
